What is Extra Care?

Extra Care is the name given to a type of housing which can offer older people the flexibility of living in purpose built accommodation that is supported by on-site staff working 24 hours a day, providing care and support as and when it is needed.

Extra Care housing allows you to remain independent. You will have your own apartment or bungalow and should you need care and support it will be individually designed around your needs. Properties are specifically designed to offer security, ease of access and include many features which are valued by older people.

There is currently one Extra Care housing scheme in Warrington that is owned by Torus. These are specialist providers who deliver housing, care and support services to residents.
